


It's working hard, but not as hard as it sounds IMOĪs to recreating it in Trainz, you would first need to find/create an appropriate smoke texture (I personally would avoid the default 'black' smoke texture here). If the fire were not putting out a lot of smoke, you wouldn't really see much there, based off the lack of steam (white) in the air behind the loco. Either due to a fairly 'cold' fire (likely due to having too much fuel on the fire), or due to the loco sucking the fuel through the boiler before it has fully burnt (quite likely in this case). in the video the loco is working extremely hard).Īs a note, the colour you are seeing in the video is actually indicating a fairly inefficient fire (even with oil burners, which I'm guessing that loco is, black smoke means an inefficient fire). However, it would not vary according to the 'output' of the loco (E.g. It may be possible to recreate that specific smoke effect at low speeds (with a script implementing a more appropriate effect at higher speeds).
